My main reason for creating our peppermint tea, C.R.E.A.M., when we launched because I wanted a quality crisp and refreshing tea.
The mint teas that I used to drink were from some plantation (no thank you) or they just tasted more like mint flavor than actual mint. I wanted a tea that would awaken my senses and make me excited about drinking the tea the very minute that I opened the packaging.
So, I sourced mint from local farms because I wanted it to be fresh. What's fresher than local? Ha. Anyway, I found an urban farm nearby, got mint, dried it and made tea.
Everything about it was WAY better than what I was used to and I was determined to bring this to so many other people through Ivy's Tea Co.
Maybe you're wondering, "Why should I drink C.R.E.A.M?" "Is it for me?" That's why I'm here. I am an herbalist ya know.
Anyway, C.R.E.A.M. is full of flavonoids, tannins, resin, triterpenes, necessary essential oils and much more. Peppermint, the star of C.R.E.A.M., is a stimulating and warming herb. Even though it feels cool when we drink it or apply it to our skin. Shout out to peppermint for being so multi-faceted.
Many use peppermint because it helps with stomach ailments, like nausea, vomiting, gas and bloating. However, I've had success with peppermint as a home remedy for headaches, sore throat, and even menstrual cramps. Yeah. I told you peppermint is multi-faceted.
C.R.E.A.M. is one of our bestsellers and everyone loves it, hot or cold. Here's a YouTube video about how to make C.R.E.A.M. hot. If you want to ice the tea, follow the same recipe and refrigerate the tea for at least 4 hours, so that it chills. If you want to use honey to sweeten your iced tea, be sure to do it when the tea is hot. Otherwise, you'll have pretty strong forearms stirring that honey into cold tea trying to make it dissolve. Trust me.
