Immune Boosting Herbs & Foods

Going to your pharmacy and buying over-the-counter medicine hurts. You have to drive, buy something that's sugary and all it really does is make you sleep...maybe. The over-the-counter medicine simply suppresses your symptoms. It's 2017 and they don't think we know that stuff doesn't work?

Let's skip all of that. Here are some great herbs that you can use to boost your immune system and help you limit your risk. Cuz it's really risky out there. Here you go:
  1. Yarrow
  2. Peppermint
  3. Elder flower and elderberry
  4. Elecampane
  5. Horehound
  6. Mullein
  7. Pleurisy Root
  8. Echinecea
  9. Astragalus Root
  10. Garlic
  11. American Ginseng
  12. Eleuthero
  13. Licorice
  14. Turmeric

Maybe you're not like us. Maybe you don't have an herb wall. Which is completely reasonable - we've definitely gone overboard. But we all gotta eat. In the winter months, we're more inclined to eat meats and starchy/sugary foods - this is natural. You just have to fight that natural urge and enjoy the following on the regular to keep your immune system in top shape:

  1. Green tea
  2. Yogurt (Greek yogurt) (not too much)
  3. Citrus (grapefruit, orange, etc)
  4. Red bell peppers
  5. Broccoli
  6. Spinach
  7. Papaya

Ivy's Tea Co. offers teas that can make this transition from OTC meds to holistic health practices that much easier. They include our YPE, What the Flu?, and Green Bae.
